The main aim of the study is to design a novel meta-material substrate microstrip patch antenna (ArIon Diclad(870)) to improve the directivity compared to the FR4 substrate an-tenna at 2.7GHz. Two groups, antenna with novel metamaterial substrate and antenna with FR4 substrate are simulated with 10 samples. Each group is simulated with 8 iterations. Micro-strip patch antenna patch length, type of substrate, width, height, the dielectric constant of the substrate, and resonance frequency are used for directivity performance analysis. The alpha error-threshold of 0.05 was kept with a 95% confidence interval and 80% pre-test power. Through simulation, it is observed that the directivity performance of novel metamaterial substrate mi-crostrip patch antenna is 8.6dB, and antenna with FR4 substrate microstrip patch antenna is 7.9 dB with the significance value of p=O.0025 (PiO.05).
