In recent years, the tremendous growth of the marine industry has undoubtedly increased the volume of maritime trade. This will significantly improve maritime activity and raise concerns about the security and privacy of data communications between the berthing ship and the IoT devices while parking the ships at the port. This paper focuses on maximizing the efficiency of the marine internet of things by using a lightweight authentication approach to provide security and privacy to network-joining entities in maritime. The proposed scheme is resistant to various cryptographic attacks such as Man-in-middle attack, Replay Attack, Anonymity, unlinkability, Impersonation attack, Information Leakage, Key attack, Eavesdropping attack, Denial-of-Service (DoS) Attacks, Confidentiality, and integrity so that it can be implemented practically.
