According to WHO report, 17.9 million people die each year from CVDs, representing 31% of all global deaths. Of these deaths, 85% are due to heart attack and stroke. Cardiovascular diseases, the leading cause of premature death in the world include heart attacks, strokes and other circulatory diseases. More than 75% of CVD deaths occur in low-income and middle-income countries.
