I. Introduction n the high-speed aircraft design community, the waveriders are well accepted as high performance configurations. Waverider is a hypersonic aircraft design which improves its lift-to-drag ratio by creating shock waves attached to its sharp leading edge. It can also be seen as the configuration is riding on the shock waves, hence the name waverider. The waverider design concept was first developed by Nonweiler, and reported in 1959 as a re-entry vehicle [1]. The described configuration is a delta-wing platform, also called as caret, which is first applied in the two-dimensional flow, as in Fig. 1. The principle of the idea is to achieve the lift by utilizing the greater after-shock pressure acting on the lower surface of the wing.
