The current 5G network deployment is anticipated to support a massive number of connections and offer a very high-data-rate to ensure enhanced mobile broadband with ultra-reliable and low-latency services. However, the full connectivity requirements by the future digital society may be challenging for 5G. Consequently, for effective support of future demands, research attention is towards beyond 5G wireless communications. This chapter presents in-depth studies on the envisage use cases, network architectures, deployment scenarios, and technology-driven paradigm shifts for the sixth generation (6G) networks.
