This narrative review provides a comprehensive overview of the latest literature on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in journalism and newsrooms, conducted by rigorous and systematic research principles. The review highlights the potential benefits and risks of AI adoption in newsrooms and emphasizes the need for a balanced approach. One key theme that emerged from the studies is the potential for AI to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of news production. AI can automate tasks such as content recommendation and creation, as well as data extraction and analysis.
