In pesticide tests against [Hibiscus esculentus] yellow vein mosaic virus and its vector Bemisia tabaci in A. [Hibiscus] esculentus soil application of methyl phosphoro-dithioate (Furatox-10 G) at 15 kg/ha followed by 4 foliar sprays of Metasystox [demeton-S-methyl] 25 EC at 0.03% at 15 d intervals from the sowing date reduced incidence to 23.26% (control 81.22%), and av. whitefly population to 59.66 (from 231) and enhanced yield to 59.45 q/ha (from 23.8).
