This paper reviews the development of pseudo strain—hardening cement based short fibcr compo~ sites employing the Performance Driven Design Approach. The micromechanics theory behind the design concept is reviewed, and the unique mechanical properties of the resulting composite are summarized. The translation of material properties to structural properties is demonstrated with the structural response of the Ohno shear beam.
