This chapter begins with an exploration of how the concepts of economic exchange, financial consideration, and ownership are redefined in a circular economy and how they result in the emergence of product-service systems (PSS). Different kinds of PSS models are described and illustrated. The chapter then discusses the crucial role of finance in supporting the transformation to a circular economy and identifies a few key aspects to take into consideration with respect to financing circular economy (CE) initiatives. Several different financing models and approaches for CE are also explored. Examples from across the world and in-depth case studies from India are also included.
