The new Fifth generation (5G) of wireless communications and beyond 5G (B5G) networks are required to provide connectivity for massive number of devices at high speed and low latency. Within this context, non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) has been involved and emerged in recent research since it is considered as an enabling technology for 5G and B5G networks. NOMA allows several users to share the same resources of time and frequency, making it an excellent candidate to provide impressively large connectivity with high spectral efficiency. In this paper, we study the performance of NOMA systems assuming independent but not necessarily to be identical -Nakagami-m multipath fading channels.
