With the increasing trend of international digital transformation initiatives in the workplace, healthcare organizations must ensure that their workforce has suitable skills to thrive. To ensure qualified talent, organizations rely on higher education institutions to provide the necessary skills training for the digital future. This research provides insights into skill expectations from an industry perspective and considers whether higher education curricula are on a par with these expectations. Twenty qualitative, semi-structured interviews were conducted between August and October 2019, with business leaders in a complex, multinational healthcare organization undergoing digital transformation. Thematic analysis and content coding techniques were used to analyze the data and synthesize the findings.
