Objective To provide an overview of the types of training experiences considered most important to the development of competency in pediatric psychology. Methods This is the work of a task force commissioned by the Society of Pediatric Psychology, Division 54 of the American Psychological Association. Results Twelve topic areas, adapted from Roberts et al. (1998), deemed important for obtaining knowledge and expertise in pediatric psychology, were identified.
