Delay tolerant networks (DTN) are kind of sparse networks in which end-to-end connectivity between source and destination is not always guaranteed. The Internet is the basic source of forwarding the traffic from source to destination. However, in rural areas, especially in developing countries; access to internet may not be available. Internet cannot be deployed in rural areas due to infrastructure and cost constraints. In most of routing protocols in DTN, the issue of utilizing buffer management scheme is not considered efficiently. The interest based approach and the metric TTL (time to live) for utilizing the buffer of nodes is not considered in case of social networks.
