Vehicular networks have become among the most interesting topics in Internet of Things era as they are key factor in limiting road crashes and introducing a smart transportation system with high level of safety. The communication between vehicles and other devices is known as a Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) and it is categorized into two main types: Vehicles-to-Infrastructure (V2I) and Vehicles-to-Vehicles (V2V). This paper considers vehicular networks based on 5G cellular network with a Device-to-Device (D2D) technology support. The main challenges here are to guarantee all V2V links reliability while maximizing both of ergodic capacity for those V2I ones and the overall network utilization.
