简介
Large language models (LLMs) have recently generated a lot of interest, thanks to the outstanding performance they have shown across various fields. One such implementation of pre-trained LLMs that has tremendously appealed to users is ChatGPT, which was developed by OpenAI. Several users consider it as a highly disruptive technology, especially educators and educationists. Since this technology is beginning to generate a lot of debate with a revisit on fundamental ethical boundaries, it is timely and critical to study the perspectives held by its users to further understand its possible impact on the educational sectors, as well as its strengths and limitations. This study aims to fill this gap by conducting data mining from LinkedIn about ChatGPT and providing an in-depth text analysis using VOSviewer. The findings indicate that plagiarism, references, citations, manuscripts, papers, and literature reviews are among the issues involving the greatest concerns. These results indicate that ChatGPT has the potential to improve academic progress (new knowledge, thought, ideas, etc.) as well as increase academic abuse (plagiarism, inaccuracy, etc.). To better help scientific writing, it is still required to clarify the ethical and appropriate parameters of LLM usage. Future studies are required to provide a deeper understanding of how to foster fresh ideas and creative expression by removing barriers to writing and communication.
