This paper is the last paper (independently of possible future refinements and complements) aiming to the partition of optical forces in the framework of generalized Lorenz–Mie theory. After a paper devoted to forces exerted on quadrupoles, the present paper is devoted to forces exerted on arbitrary sized particles. These forces are expressed in terms of the beam shape coefficients which encode the structure of the illuminating beam and of Mie coefficients which encode the properties of the scatterer. The partition relies on a three-level categorization (mixing and recoil forces, gradient and non-gradient forces, scattering and non-standard forces) and on a two-level decomposition (K-forces with K being an integer ranging from 1 to∞, and electric/magnetic/magnetoelectric forces).
