A series of Al-supersaturated Mg alloys were fabricated by magnetron-sputtering and their
corrosion behavior was investigated. The results showed that the supersaturated Al in the
matrix facilitated the formation of a uniform and protective surface film and effectively
suppressed the micro-galvanic corrosion. The secondary phase nano-particles smaller than
a critical size did not have an evident deteriorating effect on the micro galvanic corrosion of
the Al-supersaturated alloys.
