Abstract
This paper firstly describes the research framework of Human Activity Recognition and Fall Detection, as well as Hidden Markov Model and its extension with continuous observations and hierarchical topology, namely the Continuous Density Hidden Markov Model and the Hierarchical Hidden Markov Model.
