In the present work the simulation of joining of Inconel-718 was carried out through
COMSOL simulation software. The modelling was done with the same environment in which
joining of Inconel-718 was carried out. The resistive losses due to the electric field and

Abstract

The modelling was done with the same environment in which joining of Inconel-718 was carried out. The resistive losses due to the electric field and magnetic field distribution were observed to be 8.124× 107 W/m3 and 1.361× 10-5 W/m3, respectively. The maximum temperature observed at joint zone was observed to be around 1124.8 OC, which was attained within a duration of 540 s. The maximum value of the electric field Z component and magnetic field Z component was observed to be 5.36× 104 (V/m) and 116.96 A/m for joining of Inconel-718. The simulation results were found to be in good agreement with the experimental findings.
