A computational homology analysis of CGH data finds recurrent genomic instability in older breast cancer patients

Results By looking at the rank of the first homology group for surfaces generated from CGH
data for patients in different age ranges, we have found significant differences in copy
number variation between older and younger cohorts. When compared to patients under
age 40, patients aged 70–79 have more recurrent regions of amplifications and deletions on
chromosomes 1, 4, and 16. The age 60–69 patients have significantly more CNV than the
