In this paper, 3D printed reduced height waveguide, similar to a substrate integrated
waveguide (SIW), based components operating in the X-& Ku-band are demonstrated. The
waveguides are made hollow to reduce dielectric loss. Straight waveguide structures, a T-
line resonator, power divider and a leaky wave antenna are designed, fabricated and

In this paper, 3D printed reduced height waveguide, similar to a substrate integrated waveguide (SIW), based components operating in the X-& Ku-band are demonstrated. The waveguides are made hollow to reduce dielectric loss. Straight waveguide structures, a T-line resonator, power divider and a leaky wave antenna are designed, fabricated and characterized. Details of the design, fabrication, assembly, and testing are presented in the paper. Overall, this paper shows that compact waveguide structures (similar to SIW) having low loss can readily be prototyped using 3D printing. This process allows for the design of novel high functional density RF systems.
