This paper proposes Model Predictive Control (MPC) for single-phase grid connected
inverter for PV applications. The proposed single-phase inverter is a five-switch inverter. The
inverter is controlled to inject sinusoidal current into the grid. MPC provides control of the
amplitude and frequency of the injected current. Five-switch inverter consists of an h-bridge
inverter and extra switch is added. The added switch enables reduction the switching losses
