To describe what has been produced by the nursing staff about the costing of hospital supplies in the sector of patients with heart failure. It was done an integrative review of public ations among 2001 and 2011 in electronic databases; 74 studies were found, however, only 2 corresponded to the criteria's search selection. The research points the need of qualified professional nurses, focusing the hospital supplies cost. It was found that those professionals who seek knowledge about the management of these materials, are more valued by institutions, because of the fact of them becoming competent to the point of lowering the costs and raising the profits of those; besi des the importance of the nurse responsability to control the costing of materials, as the professional who is in direct contact with such instruments.
