Abstract
Introduction: Today, musculoskeletal disorders are of extensive occupational injuries around the world. These disorders represent one-third of all the occupational injuries, which have significant economic and social worth effects. The causes of these disorders are very different; but one of the most important ones is awkward working postures. For this purpose, this study was carried out to survey work postures in hospital staff using Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) and Rapid Office Strain Assessment (ROSA) methods. Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 57 employees were randomly selected from all the hospital staff working in different wards. ROSA was used to assess working postures in the administrative personnel, and REBA was applied for the rest of the staff. Results: According to the results of REBA, the final risk scores of 45% of employees were in the high level range and 48% were in the medium level. The results of ROSA indicated that in 43% and 57% of the administrative personnel, the final risk scores were in high and safe levels, respectively.
Conclusion: The results indicated that the risk of musculoskeletal disorders among administrative staff as well as the rest of the hospital personnel was high. In order to diminish the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders, prevention and educational programs must be arranged for all the staff in every department of the hospital.
