Bilateral quadrature wireless coil for breast MRI

In this paper, we demonstrate a quadrature radiofrequency wireless coil to improve breast
MRI at 1.5 T. The coil is based on the combination of the metamaterial-inspired resonator
and Helmholtz-type resonator. Numerical and experimental studies of the bilateral
quadrature coil have shown that it increases the transmit efficiency of the whole-body
birdcage coil by 7-fold and radiofrequency safety by 4.3 times.
