OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to determine if intrapartum contractions of a
particular shape (rapid rise with slower return to baseline) are predictive of cephalopelvic
disproportion (CPD). STUDY DESIGN: In an institutional review board (IRB)-approved study,
