During handling and transport of natural gas, it is observed that large and sudden pressure
drops may induce mist formation. Muitjens et al. 1 showed that the condensation in the gas
mixture is a nonequilibrium phase change of the higher alkanes, such as nonane and
decane, which are present in the mixture besides the main components methane and
