Automation, robots, and artificial intelligence are becoming an integral part of our lives. These areas go hand in hand with the exponential development of some technical solutions. This study is partly about the future, but also provides a thematic mix of the present and contributes to the understanding of the paradigm shift in the use of artificial intelligence. The emergence of OpenAI ChatGPT is briefly presented as one of the latest achievements in the development of artificial intelligence. We then present some international studies on the impact of this innovative solution on the field of education. We will then seek answers to the following questions: Does artificial intelligence endanger the quality of education? Can students use it to solve problems? Has the development of artificial intelligence reached a level that could give rise to this concern? The present study explores the applicability of AI by focusing on the above issues. It does so through research conducted with the participation of university students, in which the focus is on the role of AI in the development of business communication education, skills, and operational processes. The students in the study were selected from undergraduate students in Communication and Media Studies and Business and Management.
