N-linked glycosylation is an essential modification of secretory and membrane proteins in all
eukaryotic cells. Here, we review the current metabolic pathways of N-linked
oligosaccharide biosynthesis in the endoplasmic reticulum and in the Golgi apparatus for
yeasts: Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Schizosaccharomyces pombe, and higher
