In this study, we investigated the effects of three counseling interventions on women's body
image and self-concept. The interventions used were cognitive therapy techniques,
cognitive behavior therapy techniques, and reflective therapy techniques. Women

This study investigated the effects of three counseling interventions compared to a wait list
control group on women's body cathexis and self cathexis. Also investigated were
participants' preceptions of expertness, attractiveness, and trustworthiness of their
counselors. The therapies used were cognitive therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, and
reflective therapy.
