Retention of rice straw has shown improvement in rice and wheat yield in rice-wheat system after 3 years of the practice. PAU has developed a number of technologies for management of rice straw since the year 2003 and the technologies/practices discussed below have been successful with the farmers for management of rice straw. PAU is engaged in popularization of rice straw management machinery, ex-situ use of rice straw, cultivation of short duration rice varieties through demonstrations, lectures, field days, radio/TV talks, print media, ICTs, etc.[Extracted from the article]
