A non! descript, male dog with typical canine distemper clinical signs was presented to Madras Veterinary College Teaching Hospital. The dog was confirmed as canine distemper by clinically evidenced signs and nested PCR. In addition to routine palliative supportive treatment, homeo! pathic medicine (Tab. Conium 30C) was also tried to reduce the prominent clinical signs as empirical approach. After two weeks of therapy, dog was clinically normal except occasional temporal twitching. This study suggested that, Conium maculatum might be used as empiri! cal therapeutic approach and also, analytical studies were warranted to know the potency of homeopathic drug on canine distemper.
