In this study neutron activation analysis was applied to analyze lichen samples used as
atmospheric pollutant biomonitors in order to verify if there is correlation between air
pollution and its effects on the cardio respiratory system. Canoparmelia texana lichenized
fungii species was chosen for passive biomonitoring of atmospheric pollutants. The
population group selected for this study was adults over 45 years. Lichen samples collected
