Depressed subjects had significantly higher mean values in a variety of QOLIE-89 subscales, the most prevalent being those of “Energy/Fatigue”,“Attention/Concentration”, and “Emotional well-being”. Logistic Regression showed that QOLIE-89 subscales “Energy/Fatigue” and “Attention/Concentration” predict successfully the existence of depression. Present results, despite limitations of this study (small sample, possible selection bias), suggest that specific quality of life variables are significantly and mutually related to depression, and warrant further study.
