Previous research has indicated that parents who raise children having disabilities report

Measures of maternal depression and child functioning were also administered. Analyses indicated that mothers reported a relatively large number of symptoms often associated with depression. However, reports of depressive symptomatology were not meaningfully related to the children's developmental status or parent-child interaction behaviors.
