This paper presents the modeling of variable speed Wind Energy Conversion System
(WECS) with a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG) and a Matrix Converter.

Abstract
This paper presents the modeling of variable speed Wind Energy Conversion System (WECS) with a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG) and a Matrix Converter. The objective of this paper is to convert the variable frequency output voltage from wind energy conversion system into constant frequency output voltage. Space Vector Modulation strategy is adopted to produce the constant frequency output in the load side.
