A silicon oxynitride (SiON) guided film is used as multilayered waveguide and using transfer
matrix method. We propose the application of waveguide as a TE-Pass polarizer and TM-
Pass polarizer having a passband in the third optical communication window of 1550 nm.
Polarizer is key component for devices which require a single polarization for their
operation. Most of the polarizers use metal clad waveguides with proper thickness and
refractive index of cover and substrate.
