Abstract
The purpose of the research is to identify determinant factors in the success of Baitul Maal wat Tamwil (BMT). BMT is a kind of Islamic microfinance institute which saves and distributes funds for micro entrepreneurs. The method of this research involves the financial description method and characteristic analysis. The results show that the main determinants of the BMT's success are capability of financial management, characteristics of financing customers, capability of risk management, familiarity among customers and the managerial team of BMT, Information Technology, and Networking.
