Abstract
The present study aims to report the experience of nursing students in a health education action with schoolchildren and adolescents of blood donation in the school environment. This is a descriptive study, of the experience report type, about an extension activity aimed at schoolchildren on blood donation, developed in a state elementary school located in the interior of the state of Rio Grande do Sul (RS) in October 2019. The duration of the activities was four hours, in the morning and afternoon shifts. The teaching strategies were based on the methodologies of learning activities being carried out through playful activities. 38 children and 86 adolescents participated in the activity. Through the proposed activities, it was possible to promote a learning space and exercise among students about blood donation, so that students associated their previous learning with the new information acquired, helping in the construction of knowledge. In addition, it enabled the development of skills, creativity and socialization among the participants. The results of the study demonstrate the effectiveness of active and playful methodologies for short-term learning, as well as the need to promote awareness actions about blood donation and stimulating knowledge that the individual is aware of and disseminates. In addition, the importance of nursing performance as an educator and health promoter in spaces such as the school environment is evident.
