Pot grown 3-week-old seedlings of 9 varieties were subjected to salinity by addition of NaCl
(EC 10 mmho/cm) solution to the soil once a week. AU1, CO43 and and CSC1 proved
resistant, having lower Na and Cl uptakes and showing smaller reductions in chlorophyll
content, survival rate and total leaf area.
Abstract
Pot grown 3-week-old seedlings of 9 varieties were subjected to salinity by addition of NaCl (EC 10 mmho/cm) solution to the soil once a week. AU1, CO43 and and CSC1 proved resistant, having lower Na and Cl uptakes and showing smaller reductions in chlorophyll content, survival rate and total leaf area.
