In this paper, we propose an analytical Markov chain model of the slotted carrier-sense
multiple-access/collision-avoidance (CSMA/CA) protocol for IEEE 802.15. 4 under
unsaturated traffic conditions. Our proposed Markov chain model reflects the characteristics
