This paper considers the fact, that today's environmental problems including global
warming, mass generation of waste, and release of a vast volume of harmful chemical
substances are the consequence of the accumulation of environmental burdens caused by
normal business activities and daily consumption activities. Therefore, societies and
bussineses need to make a drastic shift to a sustainable socio-economic system with fewer
environmental impacts.
