This paper presents an application of fuzzy logic theory for modeling a data driven fuzzy
model of Angle of Attack sensor of ATAS aircraft using the recorded linear acceleration,
airspeed, pitch angle and elevator deflection data of aircraft as inputs. Fuzzy logic based

This paper presents an application of fuzzy logic theory for modeling a data driven fuzzy model of Angle of Attack sensor of ATAS aircraft using the recorded linear acceleration, airspeed, pitch angle and elevator deflection data of aircraft as inputs. Fuzzy logic based Takagi Sugeno model is used for modeling purpose. The application shows its benefits as a data driven redundancy management system in the case of failure of actual angle of attack sensor which leads to catastrophic damage of the aircraft. The grid based Ruspini type fuzzy partitions are used for input spaces and triangular type membership functions are generated for every inputs. The rule consequent parameters are estimated based on weighted least square method. The trends of mean square error between estimated and actual angle of attack data shows good function approximation and modeling capability of the proposed TS fuzzy model.
