The presented work is the result of my many years of research on the taxonomy and
distribution of Oenothera species in Europe, carried out on the basis of plant specimens
collected during fi eld excursions or obtained from seeds in cultivation. A key to identifi
cation of 61 European taxa of Oenothera, comprising plants native to Europe, established
