Abstract
The study aims at finding out the factors that influence the usage of ICT in pre-service teacher education. The study is a small-scale literature review where the researcher searched the related literature by inputting the keyword ICT usage in pre-service teacher education on various databases like Google Scholar, JStore and ERIC. Furthermore, the researcher searched the keyword on various publication houses' websites like Taylor and Francis, Sage, Emerald and Wiley online. After a brief review of the studies, the researcher found five studies matching with the criteria of the paper. With the small-scale literature, the researcher found that the teachers need skills, attitude, and knowledge concerning ICT so that they can integrate it into pre-service teacher education. They also need to build self-efficacy, desired ICT competence with sound pedagogical knowledge. The quality of software and hardware, access to the resources, school and the national policies, support and collegiality in their school, incentives to change, ease of use, formal computer training, and commitment to professional learning are also some key factors that might hinder the ICT usage in pre-service teacher education. Regardless of above all, there are also some internal and external factors like knowledge, attitude towards internet and computers, self-confidence, and perceived support for the usage of ICT which can hinder the process of ICT integration in pre-service teacher education.
