The article is focused on the fiber optic current meter with FPGA-based data processing. The
sensor element operation is based on the Faraday effect which occurs in the Spun optical
fiber twisted around electric wire. The demodulation method used to process the sensor
signal is the joint measuring of the first and second harmonics of the modulation signal and
