Goal programming (GP) is the most commonly known model of MOP and it is today alive more than ever, supported by a network of researchers and practitioners continually feeding it with theoretical developments and applications, all of these with resounding success. This paper paints a picture summarizing the history of GP and suggests a few areas of research in this era of globalization.
