Ignition of CO2 diluted hydrocarbon mixture were studied at initial pressure over 20 bar at
constant volume using high voltage CDI spark ignition. Ignition limit, flame images, and
flame speeds are reported in this paper. The effect of CO2 reduced the flame speed
significantly. Highly buoyant cellular flames were observed with high CO2 dilution.
Measured flame speeds with 25% CO2 were 7.07 cm/s at 20 bar, 429 K and 5.86 cm/s at 26
bar, 422 K.
