However, the continuous improvements are still going on for the further developments with respect to engineering aspects, especially for sensorless speed estimation. In the present work ANN based controller is used in place of conventional PI controller in MRAS for speed estimation of direct torque controlled induction motor drive and simulated using MATLAB Simulink environment. The performance of both models is compared for various load perturbations, and it is shown that the proposed scheme works superior than the conventional one.
