The present research is an attempt to highlight the importance of managerial effectiveness in Indian context through the study of organizational climate and organizational culture. Managers are the most important human resource of the organization as they have to interact with and motivate their subordinates and colleagues, communicate with top managements and customers, and achieve their individual as well as organizational goals. Therefore, it can be hypothesized that characteristics of Organizational Climate and Organizational Culture will have influential roles in determining Managerial Effectiveness at work. The study was carried out in different Private and Public organizations located in Delhi, India and its NCR (National Capital Region). Data were collected from 100 managers through convenience random sampling method. Analysis of the data was done using stepwise multiple regression analysis and t-test. Results revealed significant influence of Organizational Climate and Organizational Culture on Managerial Effectiveness of managers of private and public undertakings. On the other hand t-test reveals significant difference between managers categorised under public and private organizations on all the measured variables. The findings imply that the organizations in both the sectors need to understand and improve Organizational Climate and Organizational Culture and provide suitable interpersonal atmosphere so that the level of Managerial Effectiveness could be enhanced. Results are explained in the light of present scenario in existing private and public undertakings.
